Neuropathy

Neuropathy is a condition that occurs from nerve damage due to a number of possible causes. Neuropathic pain can manifest as sharp or electric or shooting or burning in nature and is usually in the upper or lower extremities. It can also feel like numbness and pins and needles or itching. Some types of neuropathy can lead to extreme sensitivity and pain to even light touch as well as coldness or weakness in the limb.

Dr.Rousseau is experienced at identifying the underlying cause of neuropathy and providing an appropriate treatment plan. Some of these treatments include nerve blocks targeting the affected nerve, sympathetic nerve injections, and spinal cord stimulation. Targeted medical management and medical marijuana options are also available. Some common causes of neuropathy are carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetes, and spinal nerve compression from a herniated disc.
